- Information You Provide via Sign-In (OAuth) I do not collect any personal information unless you choose to sign in to leave a comment. When you authenticate using Google Sign-In or GitHub OAuth via Firebase, my setup receives the following basic profile information from those platforms:
- Name / Display Name:To identify you as the author of a comment.
- Email Address: Used internally by Firebase to manage your account identity and security.
- Profile Picture URL: Though website doesn't display profile pictures in comments, but as a part of authentication, we receive this information.
- Unique Provider ID (UID): A secure identifier generated by Firebase to keep you logged in.
- Information Collected Automatically (Analytics) When you browse this site, certain non-personally identifiable technical data is automatically tracked via Cloudflare Web Analytics to help me monitor site health and performance. This includes:
- Usage Data: Pages you visit, time spent on those pages, and page loading speeds.
- Technical Data: Browser type, device type (desktop/mobile), and generalized geographic location (country level).
- How I Use Your Information
I use the information collected strictly for the following purposes:- To authenticate your identity and allow you to post comments.
- To display your public-facing display name and profile picture next to your comments.
- To analyze anonymous traffic trends so I can optimize my website's speed and performance.
- To protect my site from automated spam, abuse, and malicious behavior.
- Cookies and Local Storage
- Authentication: Firebase (my backend authentication provider) uses secure local browser storage (such as LocalStorage or session tokens) to keep you securely signed in across pages. These are strictly necessary for the technical functionality of the commenting system.
- Analytics: Traffic tracking through Cloudflare Web Analytics is entirely cookieless. It does not use cookies, local storage, or device fingerprinting to track individual users.
- Third-Party Data Processors
I rely on trusted third-party cloud services to securely host my website, track analytics, and manage user accounts:- Firebase Authentication (Google LLC): Acts as the data processor to handle secure user logins and maintain authentication data under Google's Firebase Privacy and Security policies.
- Cloudflare, Inc.: Hosts my portfolio via Cloudflare Pages and processes anonymous performance metrics through its privacy-first analytics platform.
- Account Deletion and Your Rights
You have the right to access, update, or request the deletion of your personal data at any time. Because this is a personal project, I handle these administrative requests manually.
How to Request Deletion:
If you want to delete your account or remove a specific comment, you can request this by writing an email to me at contact.jalvora@gmail.com.- Account Deletion: Upon receiving your email request, I will permanently delete your authentication profile from Firebase.
- Your Choice Regarding Comments: When you request account deletion, it is entirely your choice whether you want your existing comments removed or kept as anonymous. Please let me know your preference in the deletion request mail.
- Children's Privacy
My site is a professional developer portfolio and is not targeted toward children under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. - Contact Me
